Give the Gift of Results This Holiday Season

•

As the holiday season unfolds, it’s natural to reflect on the year behind us and think ahead to the possibilities of the year to come. For many of us, this season is about giving—to our families, our communities, and ourselves. But let’s take a step back and ask: What’s the most meaningful gift we can give?

The answer isn’t wrapped in shiny paper or tucked under a tree. The greatest gift we can give is results. Not just for us, but for those we care about. When we produce results—whether in our personal growth, our careers, or our family lives—we set an example, create stability, and inspire change amongst those that depend on us.

Results are the ultimate act of generosity. They demonstrate commitment, perseverance, and the ability to rise above excuses to achieve what matters most. As we prepare to close out 2024, let’s explore how we can give ourselves and our families the gift of results by setting meaningful goals and creating a powerful foundation for 2025.

Results Rule — No Excuses

We’ve all heard (and made) excuses:
“There wasn’t enough time.”
“I’ll start next week.”
“The circumstances weren’t ideal.”

But here’s the truth: results don’t care about excuses.
Whether you’re pursuing career growth, financial security, or personal change, the only thing that matters is what you produce.

This doesn’t mean ignoring challenges or hardships—it means refusing to let them define your outcomes. Your results are the story of your actions, discipline, and decisions, and they’re the ultimate reflection of the standards you hold yourself to.

Tangible Takeaway: Set a list of daily tasks and begin tracking your “Power List”. At the start of each day, write down the most critical 5 things you need to accomplish before you go to sleep—no matter how small. This habit reinforces a results-oriented mindset and builds momentum for bigger wins.

Shift from Wishes to Goals

Many people enter the new year with vague wishes instead of concrete goals: “I want to lose weight,” “I want to make more money,” “I want to be happier.” But wishes don’t create results—specific, actionable goals do.

Tangible Takeaway: Use the SMART framework for goal setting:

  • Specific: Define exactly what you want to achieve.
  • Measurable: Attach metrics to track your progress.
  • Achievable: Set goals that are challenging but realistic.
  • Relevant: Align your goals with your long-term vision.
  • Time-bound: Set a deadline to create urgency.

Protein: The Unsung Hero in Your Transformation Journey

While setting bold goals and building daily habits is essential, your nutrition—especially protein intake—is equally crucial to achieving success in your health and fitness goals. Here’s why:

  1. Protecting Lean Muscle & Boosting Your Metabolism
Protein isn’t just a nutrient; it’s the foundation of maintaining lean muscle. When your body has enough protein, it’s better equipped to preserve muscle tissue, especially during fat loss efforts. This not only shapes your physique but also supports your metabolism, ensuring your body burns calories efficiently even at rest.
  2. Satiety: Staying Full, Staying on Track
Protein is the most satiating macronutrient, meaning it keeps you feeling fuller longer compared to carbs or fats. By prioritizing protein-rich meals, you’ll naturally reduce cravings and stay within your daily calorie goals more easily—making it a cornerstone of adherence to any nutrition plan.
  3. Protein for Results: A Tool for Success
Whether through whole foods or supplements like protein powders, increasing your protein intake is one of the simplest yet most effective strategies for driving results. Protein not only accelerates fat loss and muscle gain but also becomes a tool for long-term consistency—a key factor in any transformation journey.

Takeaway Tip: Aim to consume 1g/1lb of your goal bodyweight per day. Include a quality protein source in every meal, such as lean meats, eggs, dairy, or plant-based options like tofu and legumes. If you’re on the go, protein powders can be a convenient way to hit your daily target. Vegan options exist, too!

By making protein a priority, you’re giving your body the tools it needs to thrive—whether your goal is to feel stronger, look better, or stay energized while pursuing excellence in all areas of life.

Results Start at Home

As parents and family members, the results we produce ripple outward. When we commit to personal excellence, we’re not just improving our own lives—we’re setting the standard for our children, partners, and those around us.

Think about what your family needs most:

  • Is it financial security?
  • More quality time?
  • A healthier lifestyle?

Whatever it is, your actions can lay the foundation for those outcomes. If your children see you staying disciplined, facing challenges head-on, and following through on your commitments, they’ll learn the value of resilience and hard work.

Tangible Takeaway: Create a family goal for 2025. Sit down together and identify one result you all want to achieve—such as saving for a vacation, improving health as a unit, or dedicating time to community service. Break it into actionable steps everyone can contribute to, reinforcing teamwork and shared accountability.

Daily Discipline = Long-Term Impact

Results are built on the consistency of daily habits, not occasional bursts of effort. Whether you’re working toward a promotion, building healthier habits, or fostering stronger family connections, the magic lies in the small, intentional actions you take every single day.

Remember: mental toughness and grit aren’t about doing extraordinary things—they’re about doing ordinary things consistently.

It’s showing up, even on the hard days, and taking one step forward.

Plan for Change, Not Perfection

Here’s the truth: 2025 won’t go perfectly—because life rarely does. But success doesn’t require perfection; it requires perseverance and adaptability. Setbacks and unexpected changes are inevitable, but how you respond to them defines your progress. Mental toughness means pivoting instead of quitting, finding ways to move forward even when the path looks different than you imagined.

Why This Matters:
Whether you’re managing a busy household, a demanding career, or both, rigid plans are bound to crack under pressure. Flexibility allows you to navigate real-life challenges without sacrificing your goals. It’s not about always getting it “right”—it’s about staying in motion.

Tangible Takeaway:
Build flexibility into your goals by creating contingency plans that keep you progressing even when life throws you a curveball.

For example:

  • If your goal is to exercise three times a week, plan alternatives for weeks when your schedule tightens. Instead of a full gym session, go for a brisk walk, or do two 15-minute home workouts while the kids are napping or doing homework.
  • If meal prepping doesn’t go as planned, keep protein-packed snacks or quick-prep options on hand to maintain your health goals without stress.
  • For time-sensitive work goals, prioritize small, essential tasks to maintain momentum and avoid burnout. Adjust the timeline if needed, but keep moving forward.

The key is to stay committed to the outcome—not necessarily the exact path. Life with kids, careers, or unexpected demands can be unpredictable, but planning for obstacles ensures you don’t lose progress when perfection isn’t possible.

Remember: Flexibility isn’t failure—it’s strategy. By adapting your approach, you’re proving your resilience and reinforcing your commitment to your goals.

Give the Gift of Accountability

The best way to ensure you stick to your goals is by involving others. Accountability creates an external motivator that drives action, whether it’s a friend, a coach, or a family member checking in on your progress.

Tangible Takeaway: Find an accountability partner for 2025. This could be a colleague, a friend, or a coach who shares your commitment to personal growth. Schedule weekly check-ins to review your progress, celebrate wins, and adjust your approach as needed.
